Tonj South County pupils in Warrap State on Monday resumed their normal classes.
Makerdit Primary School head teacher Joseph Ngor Chandit said the pupils resumed after a two-week holiday, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He urged all teachers also to resume their work because children were back to school.
The head teacher advised parents and guardians to allow their children to go to school to become future leaders.
Mr Chandit disclosed a plan to form Parent-Teacher Association to enlighten parents, guardians and chiefs on the importance of education.
He cited lack of funds and school materials including doors, windows, toilets and clean drinking water.
