Malakal Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator said they were preparing to resume their normal pastoral activities by sending priests for counselling and trauma healing course and health care.

Monsignor Rocco Taban Musa told the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa or AMECEA in Nairobi Kenya on Friday that the Diocese already sent six priests to Kenya for a three-month course.

He appealed to AMECEA member countries, International partners and other people of God to support the priests with travel expenses, accommodation and fees to learn counselling and trauma healing course.

The Apostolic Administrator said despite all that is currently happening in South Sudan, Old Fangak and Ayot parishes are still operating normally with three Comboni Missionaries.

He explained that some priests, who ran away during the time of violence, still find time to go back and celebrate masses with their faithful in various parishes, but could not stay long because parishes were still major targets of the opposition forces.
