Wau North Court Presiding Judge said Prison was the most corrupt unit in South Sudan that hinders justice processes in the country.

Buga Ajuac Makur accused Prison authorities in South Sudan of accepting bribes and releasing convicted criminals without legal procedures, Voice of Hope reported.

He said it makes no meaning when Judges sentence criminals to a certain period of service while prison wardens illegally release them.

Judge Ajuac cited example in Aweil Prison where out of 600 convicts he found 400 were released without any legal procedure.

He blamed the heads of units of not taking necessary actions against such ills and that no justice can prevail if all units entertain corruption and favoritism.

The Judge challenged death sentence abolition advocators and that South Sudan cannot proceed judicially without killing criminals.

He called on President Salva Kiir Mayardit to sign in support of the death sentence row pending on his table.
