National Member of Parliament representing Lakes State encouraged citizens to use ox-ploughs in farming to advance food security in the state.
Daniel Deng Monydit told Good News Radio that ox-ploughs technology should not be abandoned.
He cited additional techniques including fruits trees, gardening, poultry and cross breeding as examples from neighboring countries that can meet today’s challenges.
MP Monydit revealed that in the old days he was simply keeping his milk cows at home, but now he fears raiders.
He suggested goats’ hybrids, ranching and zero-grazing to meet food needs and prevent other threats.
The lawmaker was talking during the closing of board meeting of Association of Partnership Aid Rehabilitation and Development in Rumbek.
