Western Bahr El Ghazal Governor refuted claims by some State Legislative Assembly MPs that he hijacked the powers of the parliament.

Rizik Zachariah Hassan while briefing the cabinet, said some MPs went to Juba and accused him of appointing heads of specialized committee in the assembly, Voice of Hope reported.

He denied appointing chairpersons of specialized committee in the assembly but only lobbies to ensure appointing heads willing to collaboration with the executive.

Governor Zachariah noted that with the help of the state Council in Juba, they resolved the difference peacefully and that the five state MPs would return to Wau.

WBG Assembly Speaker Andrea Acho Mayor, Peter Andal, former Finance and Economic chairperson and other three MPs left the state for Juba last month after tension rose in the assembly over Finance Minister vote out.
