Western Equatoria leaders including County Commissioners, State Ministers churches and traditional leaders on Tuesday gathered in Yambio to discuss ways to reduce HIV AIDS in the state.

State Health Minister John Gboono said the meeting was to discuss how people could join hands to minimize the disease to save lives, Anisa Radio reported.

State AIDS Commission Director Jane Bangbe believed the meeting would pave way for zero new infections in 2015.

She mentioned that lack of resources was their main challenge, appreciating churches, government and partners in fighting HIV AIDS.

The Director added that hospitals are playing important role in preventing mother to child infections.

Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro advised participants to talk openly, get information and educate the public instead of complaining of budget to organize workshops.
