Wau Diocesan Justice and Peace Department conducted a four-day workshop on peace building and conflict resolution to empower women on how to contribute in building community peace.
Justice and Peace Coordinator Nathalina Andrea Mabo said the training targeted 30 women from different local women groups in Wau, Voice of Hope reported.
She said women have great role in peace building because they are peace makers at all levels in South Sudan.
Ms Andrea called on women not to stay at home listening to rumours inciting people to conflict, but to come out and contribute to their country in this difficult time of crisis.
Ms Andrea made the remarks during the opening of the workshop on Monday.
