A business resident of Munuki Payam in Juba City on Tuesday cried out that their road was becoming a lake, attracting small children to swim in the brown filthy water.
Nathan Peter Balli told CRN in an exclusive interview that the condition of the road was the worst in the city, making transport very difficult.
He added that a big truck stuck on the road few metres from Munuki-Bilpam road junction, blocking traffic.
The business resident said travelling along Munuki-Suk Libya road through Mia Saba via Suk Melisia gives an impression of the most remote rural setting in the countryside, not a city where the national government even seats.
Mr Peter added that the road was never maintained for over three years and yet Munuki area and the roads were demarcated since 1980s.
The business resident cited challenges facing residents every day including transport constraint for commuters, school children, pregnant women and vulnerable people.
Mr Peter added that the worst condition was negatively affecting business activities in the area.
The business resident said recent attempts to gravel the road with marrum proved helpless.
He appealed to Juba City authorities to immediately tarmac all feeder roads and improve drainage system.
