The National Platform for Peace and Reconciliation Committee revealed a plan to meet the opposition members either in Nairobi, Kenya or Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Peace Commission Acting Director General Tobias Atari told Bakhita Radio that the Platform is an independent body free to meet the conflicting parties.

He stressed that they were working hard to see that the two sides come together to reconcile for peace to prevail in the country.

Mr Atari said peace cannot be negotiated if fighting continues in the country, and that no lasting peace would prevail without involving Dr Riek Machar.

The Acting Director added that to achieve peace there was need to involve the opposition side in dialogue.

Mr Atari said the Platform would ensure that it involves some peace actors to talks to IDPs at the UN bases because some might not cooperate with their members.

He called on all citizens to work as ambassadors of peace and reconciliation.
