Western Bahr El-Ghazal Governor accused assassinated Police Major Martine James Ibra of corruption and smuggling arms and ammunitions before defecting to SPLM/A in opposition.
Rizik Zachariah Hassan said late Major James Ibra stole Five Thousand South Sudanese Pounds being bail collections and looted ammunitions from police store before defection, Voice of Hope reported.
He added that a criminal case against the deceased was pursued after police investigation before Ibra’s assassination.
Governor Zachariah said Major Ibra after defection travelled to different locations until he met his death in Tombura of Western Equatoria State.
The governor condemned the killing of civilians in worship places in Upper Nile region, calling on citizens to stop killing their own people.
Governor Zachariah hailed good relationship created by different denominations in the country, wishing happy Easter to all Christians in Western Bahr El-Ghazal.
