Government Spokesperson on Friday condemned Bor youths attack at the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, UNMISS base in Bor on Thursday.

Michael Makuei Lueth told the press in Juba that an investigating team would be formed to look into the matter, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said what happened was unacceptable and that government and UNMISS would jointly investigate the incident.

Mr Makuei added that the perpetrators would be brought to book once the investigation is carried out.

He urged Bor residents to remain calm to create room for investigation.

Mr Makuei said the incident started when some IDPs at the UNMISS compound celebrated the recapture of Bentiu City by the opposition forces, describing it a provoking move that prompted Bor youth to protest.

He said that before the youth could enter the compound, peacekeepers started firing into the air only to worsen the situation.

Interior Minister Aleu Ayieng Aleu urged citizens to celebrate Easter peacefully, saying wrong doers would face the law.
