Western Equatoria Inter-Church Committee on Tuesday .brought together the Lord’s Resistance Army or LRA abductees for three-day Trauma Healing training in Yambio County.
State Religious Affairs Director Fr Mark Kumbonyaki said many abductees were suffering from trauma, Anisa Radio reported.
He added that 30 abductees from Gangura Payam and seven from Yambio who were gathered for the workshop spent more than a month with the LRA in the bush.
Inter Church Committee Chairperson Rev. Edward Nzeme reiterated churches commitment to advocate for peace in the country.
He urged participants to follow the instructions and knowledge acquired during the workshop for a healthy life.
Tombura-Yambio Vicar General Anthony Bangoye advised them to love each other because God himself loves them and rescued them from the bush.
On behalf of all participants Moses Tawirika Murangi appreciated the workshop saying it healed their wounds from the evil things they witnessed in the bush that was not curable in the hospital.
