Wau Catholic Schools’ students, parents, teachers and government officials on Saturday gathered at John Paul Primary School to celebrate better performance of their candidates in the State Primary Leaving Certificate Exams.
Diocesan Education Officer Kassiano Rudolf Wodarif said the celebration was to recognize the candidates for dominating the ten top positions in the recently released primary results, Voice of Hope reported.
He acknowledged the role played by both students and teachers that lead to greater achievement for 2013-2014 scholastic year.
Mr Rudolf appreciated all Catholic Schools in the state for providing high quality academic, social and physical education that contribute to concrete nation building.
Father Lino Pinyi lamented that girls drop out in school was challenge that drives the nation to zero level.
He called on parents to advise their children to work hard and also check their exercise books at home.
Fr Pinyi called for parents and teachers’ joint efforts to bring up and educate young people for better future.
The two speakers urged all parents to send their children to school and support them while studying.
