Western Bahr El Ghazal Physical Infrastructure Minister said Wau power station is facing a major challenge of high cost of fuel and machine consumption.
This was the complain Zachariah Joseph Garang gave to Voice of Hope on Monday after the National Electricity Corporation delegation visited Wau to assess the station last week.
He said consumers would pay expensive bill because three machines consume three barrels at a cost of 1,800 South Sudanese Pounds per hour.
The Minister said the electricity cables do not cover some parts of the town.
He said two million Pounds were required to operate electricity 12 hours daily apart from repairing cables and broken parts of the machines.
Wau power station collapsed since 2011 few months after the independence.
The minister is expected to visit Juba to discuss issues of resuming electricity operations in the State.
