A national Member of Parliament representing Yei River County on Monday urged political leaders and citizens to embark on agriculture to achieve the goal of food security by 2015.
Paul Yoane Bonju told the press that leaders should show the example as agriculturalists to encourage citizens to value farming, Easter Radio reported.
He said if citizens relax in agriculture, import of food from the neighbouring countries would continue and the national economy would drop.
MP Bonju criticized eating food imported from neighbouring countries yet South Sudan soil is fertile.
He hailed women for being much involved in agriculture, urged agricultural development partners to support farmers.
