The African Union High Implementation Panel referred Abyei issue to the Presidents of South Sudan and Sudan.
Vice President James Wani Igga who attended the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia told the press in Juba that the Panel wants Salva Kiir and Omar Al Bashir to find peaceful settlement of Abyei issue, Bakhita Radio reported.
He urged the international community to continue pressurizing the two Presidents to reach real resolution.
Vice President Wani Igga said Abyei problem took long because the two countries did not agree on the zero line that was drawn by the British.
The Vice President revealed that Warrap and Northern Bar El Ghazal Governors initiated a reconciliation conference to build peace among the border tribes.
He said President Kiir directed Border State Governors to allow Misseriya to graze their animals in South Sudan territories.
Vice President Wani Igga said he met President Al Bashir at the sideline of the summit and discussed issues to boost ties between Juba and Khartoum.
