Restatement of the former United Democratic Front or UDF party chairman Peter Sule was illegal.
Philip Yona Jambi told journalists on Monday in Juba that the Central Committee of the party has no powers to elect, dismiss or reinstate chairperson according to the party’s Constitution, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said the political bureau has the powers of electing, dismissing or reinstating a chairperson.
Professor Yona explained that when Peter Sule was released from the prison by the presidential amnesty, he declared to respect UDF leadership.
Central Equatoria UDF Chairman Camillo Baibai said Peter Sule was legally accepted as the current chairman of the party.
Mr Baibai cautioned that what is happening in other parties should not be brought to UDF.
