Lakes Finance ministry Director General said on Tuesday they were lacking US Dollars which affected the flow of commodities to the state.

Kuol Daniel urged all traders in the state to continue supplying the public with commodities from Juba despite lack of US Dollars, Good News Radio reported.

He said the hard currency allocated to commercial banks was small as internal displaced persons’ movement increase expenditures.

Mr Daniel said the government was working hand in hand with Kenya Commercial Bank Rumbek branch in order to increase the share of Lakes to enable traders move beyond the borders to buy goods.

He appealed to traders to continue importing their regular goods from Juba while the state government works hard to improve the situation.

This was not the first time for Lakes State to experience hard currency scarcity.
