Kajo-Keji County Commissioner of Central Equatoria State expressed worries that the armed internally displaced persons or IDPs, from Bor town in Jonglei State, may use their weapons against local populations.
The County Press Secretary Amule Charles told CRN on Monday that the cattle keeping IDPs in Kajo-Keji County needed food and shelter to prevent them become threat to security in the area.
Mr Amule said Commissioner Henry Kala Sabuni feared that the armed IDPs may use their guns for robbing citizens in the face of hunger.
He added that apparently the armed cattle keepers seeking refuge in the County were pleading that they were there for protection.
The Press Secretary said county authorities were registering the IDPs and send the report to the state government for immediate rescue.
Mr Amule disclosed that Commissioner Kala Sabuni was struggling to resolve land disputes of Nyepo and Lire.
He explained that the Commissioner formed a committee to settle land conflicts at Mere Boma among landlords of Kande’ba, Muru and Kasura Kimu.
The Press Secretary observed that armed cattle keeping IDPs and land disputes were causing difficulty to the county leadership.
