Wild fire destroyed Napwadokor-Nakuromoi village of Kapoeta East County leaving hundreds of residents homeless and without food.
Area member of State Parliament Mark Lokorai told Emmanuel Radio that on Friday that the fire destroyed over hundred huts and food stores.
He explained that the incident happened when most of the people were attending a traditional ceremony in the next village and only children and elderly people were present.
MP Lokorai called on the county authorities and South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commissions to provide relief to avoid outbreak of diseases like pneumonia as children and old people spend cold nights outside.
He stressed that Napwodokor-Nakuromoi village was among villages in Kapoeta East County that suffered poor crop yield for the last three years.
Mr Lokorai lamented that the people were left helpless since the little they had to survive on fire consumed.
