Torit Catholic Diocesan Peace and Justice Coordinator urged young people to be agents of peace, reconciliation and conflict transformation in their various societies.

Fr John Opi said youths were responsible to change the society to live in peace and harmony, Emmanuel Radio reported.

The Coordinator cited the culture of revenge among many communities in South Sudan as a big challenge to the youths.

He expressed hope that young people who grow up as agents of peace will have skills to address the conflict situation in a more responsible manner.

Fr Opi was one of the facilitators at a three-day youths’ conference organized by the Torit Catholic Diocese.
