A Priest in Torit Catholic Diocese called on the Christian community to imitate the approach of John the Baptist.
Fr Ejidio Okanyi stressed in his homily during the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord that it was God’s life that enabled Jesus to fulfil the will of his Father, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He explained that the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist was a sign of penance and an example to the ordinary people.
Fr Okanyi urged Christians to be servants of God, stand firm in faith and overcome temptations.
He said the conflict in the country was a result of leaders not believing in the Almighty God.
He urged citizens to seek for God’s guidance.
Fr Okanyi called on South Sudanese to change their lives, hearts and attitudes and accept the call of Jesus Christ.
He was preaching on Sunday during the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Torit.
