Yei Catholic Diocesan Counselling Centre started to collect food and non food items to assist the internally displaced persons or IDPs in Yei Municipality.
Counselling Centre Coordinator Mercy Benson asked the congregation and people of good will to contribute food items, money and clothes to help the IDPs in the UN compound, Easter Radio reported.
She said the Centre together with Caritas Yei, South Sudan Relief Rehabilitation Commission and other organizations would assist the IDPs.
Sister Benson said they put an empty basket at the Church for people of goodwill to put in onions, clothes money and any other items for helping the IDPs.
Caritas Yei Coordinator Angelo Diu said through Bakhita Health Centre they helped the IDPs with plastic sheets, blankets and health services.
