The national Information Minister announced it successfully completed the registration of private media houses operating in the country.
Michael Makuei in a meeting with the journalists on Friday in Juba said media houses submitted lists and credentials of their journalists, Bakhita Radio reported.
He explained that in Juba they registered 45 media houses, 12 televisions in the whole country, 61 radio stations, 35 newspapers and 16 international correspondents.
He said any registered company not operating would be deregistered.
Minister Makuei said the Information Committee was making final touches on the recently passed media bills before submitting to the president for signature.
He said once the president assent the media bills into law, the media authority would be formed to put forward media houses rules and regulations.
The minister urged some of the media houses which did not registered to comply with the order or shutdown.
He said every media houses must renew their registration at every end of the year.
