People living with HIV in Yei River County on Monday urged the people of South Sudan to go for voluntary counselling and testing to know their status.

Speaking during the celebration of World Aids Day in Yei, a HIV positive woman testified that she was living with the virus for seven years and has so far produced three children, Easter Radio reported.

She thanked the medical centres in the country for working hard to support people living with HIV.

She encouraged people who feared going for the test to do it.

Another HIV positive woman also testified that she gave birth to two children at a medical facility while living with the virus.

She condemned the stigma placed against people living with HIV.

She explained that people living with the virus can still reproduce safely.
