Imported crops failed to yield in Nuba Mountains

The Nuba Secretariat of Agriculture, Food Security said the imported crops did not yield despite of heavy rains this year.
 
Nuba Mountains Agriculture Secretariat in June and July distributed imported seeds to farmers for plantation to curb looming hunger in the area, Voice of Peace reported.
 
Agriculture Secretary Jamil Makki said in some parts of Nuba Mountains where people had grown exotic seeds, failed to harvest.
 
Mr Makki said seedlings have grown into pasture.
 
He added that the imported seeds were not suitable for Nuba land.
 
Agriculture and Food Security Secretariat encouraged the population of Nuba Mountains that harvested little food to economize it in order to avoid hunger.
