Yei River County Director of Music, Dance and Drama for basic schools appealed for intensive training of supervisors to oversee the teaching of co-curriculum activities.

Sebit Jacob Henry said his directorate has inadequate specialized labor and teachers lack motivation, Easter Radio reported.

He pointed out that most teachers teach five subjects without motivation including science, mathematics, English and social studies.

Mr Sebit said only eight schools participated in a co-curricular competition.

He added that the two schools failed to compete due to financial and transport obstacles.

Mr Sebit revealed that Christ the King Primary School took the first position, followed by Nehemiah and Kanjoro.

Co-curricular activities included western choral singing, instrumental composition, folk songs, traditional songs, drama and sight singing.
