The Catholic Archdiocese of Juba Youth Association or CAJYA on Friday began a two-day leadership workshop and general council meeting at Sacred Heart Parish Kwörijik-Luri.

CAJYA Coordinator Robert Sokiri John said the workshop aimed to empower youths with leadership skills, Bakhita Radio reported.

He added that the workshop brought together 36 participants, three from each of the 12 parishes of the Archdiocese.

The coordinator said the workshop will examine youths’ successes and failures and make the necessary adjustments in the general council meeting.

Mr Sokiri said it was time to empower youths as they are the future leaders.

He warned that if youths are not empowered, the country will not have good leaders both in the Church and communities.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Juba funded the leadership workshop.
