Eastern Equatoria government condemned increasing cases of child abduction in the state.

The state spokesperson Clement Loku Chichim said more than 20 children were abducted from Torit County in the last three years, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He said last week two children were abducted from Lowoi Boma of Kudo Payam in Torit County.

Mr Chichim disclosed government planned to deploy military forces at Jebel Gutun along Juba-Torit high-way to boost security.

He explained that the state government would beef its relations with Jonglei state to recover abducted children and improve security.

The minister said they would form a committee and delegate it to meet their Jonglei counterparts over the rampant child abduction.
