Colonel Malaak Auyen Ajok, SPLA acting spokesperson, said residents from Mayom County of Unity state attacked neighbors of Warrap state.
He addeed that 11 attackers were killed while 15 died in the attacked group.
The two communities were fighting over cattle.
Communities from Unity and Warrap clash frequently over cattle rustling but this was one of the most serious attacks in the area.
