GoSS ministry of Commerce displayed a number of expired goods that were obtained from different markets around Juba.

The goods included more than a hundred cans of beer, margarine, coffee, cooking oil, and many others that are past their sell by date.

Some items expired way back in 2007 but were still in the market.

The ministry sent its market inspectors to confiscate all the goods that had expiry dates.

This is not the first time the ministry destroys expired goods as last year it conducted a similar exercise.

The goods were taken to the dumping site along the Yei road where they were burnt to ashes.
