SECOND GRENADE VICTIM DIES AT TORIT CIVIL HOSPITAL

A second victim of a tragic grenade that blasted last month has died today at Torit Civil Hospital.

Radio Emmanuel has received information that Cecilia Nyatar who lost one leg following the explosion, died this afternoon.

Ms. Nyatar was among five people, including a four-month old baby, who were seriously injured by the grenade launched by an SPLA soldier, identified as Kasimiro Oute.

A nine-year old boy died on the spot.

The ward matron at Torit hospital told journalist today that Ms. Nyatar’s condition was critical and she lacked sufficient blood in her body after her leg was amputated.

Mr. Kasimiro, a resident of Isilak area in Torit town, threw the grenade on the morning of April 23 amid mourners during his son’s funeral.
