Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference or SCBC restructured its Secretariat for effective and sufficient service delivery to the two countries.
Over the years, the Secretariat was based in Khartoum and shifted to Juba last year.
SCBC Vice President Erkulano Lodu Tombe said Bishops resolved to have two Assistants to the Secretary-General, one in Khartoum and one in Juba.
He said the two Assistants were meant to reduce the overload of the Secretary-General in the two countries.
Bishop Erkolano added that the bishops discussed care of the clergy and resolved to grant priests rest time.
He said when a priest overworked he cannot serve effectively and might quit the ministry.
The Catholic Bishops of the two countries brainstormed on changing ‘Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference’ but did not come to a conclusion.
