The Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference or SCBC met in Khartoum and resolved to reopen St Paul’s national Major Seminary Philosophy section next July.

SCBC Vice President Erkulano Lodu Tombe told CRN on Thursday upon arrival from Khartoum that Rome suspended the section for two years due to some challenges that they already addressed.

He said Philosophy is the feeder of theology and its closure might be a stumbling block to theology.

Bishop Lodu expressed fear that expatriate priests in Sudan face difficulties that threaten to weaken faith in Khartoum Archdiocese.

He invited Christians to pray for the Church in the Sudan so that the political situation becomes conducive for clergy.

SCBC plenary started on August 21 and concluded on September 5.
