National Assembly ratifies joining African Development Bank

The National Legislative Assembly on Tuesday ratified the agreement for South Sudan’s membership in the African Development Bank.
 
The National Council of Ministers endorsed the Agreement and presented it to the Assembly in July 2012 for scrutiny and endorsement.
 
Economy and Finance Development Committee chairperson Paul Logale Jumi said the Bank would finance big projects including roads, hydroelectric power and water supply in the country.
 
He said when South Sudan becomes a member; South Sudanese young graduates will find jobs in the Bank.
 
Professor Jumi said South Sudanese will also have opportunities to work in member countries like Uganda and Ethiopia. 
 
African Development Bank is a Regional Bank for independent nations formed in 1963.
