Common Humanitarian Fund or CHF allocated 33 million US Dollars to assist displaced people, returnees, refugees and vulnerable host communities in South Sudan.
UN Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan Toby Lanzer said the money will enable people to get clean drinking water and sanitation, education, livelihoods support, healthcare, household items, mine clearance and protection.
He said the money will also pay for key logistics and emergency telecommunications in deep field locations.
‘The money will help people in South Sudan who have been worstly affected by violence, disease and displacement. Our goal is to make sure aid gets to those who need it most and as quickly as possible’, said Mr Lanzer.
The CHF is a tool for funding the most urgent priorities for humanitarian action and rapid response to emergencies.
