Western Equatoria government laid down strategies to improve education during the austerity measures.
Education Minister Pia Philip Michael revealed the plan on Tuesday during the launch of a three-day consultation forum in Yambio, Anisa Radio reported.
He said the ministry and partners are consulting on education challenges to find ways to improve the learning system in the 2013-2014 academic year.
Deputy Governor Sapana Abui said education is the first priority in Western Equatoria under the motto: ‘Let everybody go to school’.
He told parents that girls are not sources of income because they need to learn become future leaders.
The two leaders emphasized that parents, teachers and everybody were responsible to strengthen education.
The forum brought together officials from state education ministry, county, and school directors, NGO partners and church representatives.
