The National Higher Education Council called on the private business sector to support higher learning institutions in the country.
Higher Education Deputy Minister Gabriel Kuc said the National Council of Higher Education resolved that the private investors should be engaged to support higher education in the country, Bakhita Radio reported.
He lamented that government support to higher education was very little in the last two years and lack of services hindered the development of institutions.
Mr Kuc said the country has very many priorities that compete and cannot be fulfilled because of limited resources.
He said the government encouraged private sector’s support but not like relief.
Mr Kuc made the remark after MTN took a move in its 21 days of yellow care to help education sector in the country.
