Five people died of tuberculosis in Nuba Mountains and 44 patients are currently receiving medical treatment.
A nurse at a local hospital TB Ward, Abdu Mohammed Kumi, told Voice of Peace that five patients died of TB cases since 2012.
He said 75 patients were discharged after successful treatment.
Mr Kumi advised people to stop drinking from the same container because TB spreads from one person to another through air and saliva.
He also cautioned people against random spitting at home and in the public places to minimize the increase of TB infections.
