Cleric urges citizens to embrace girl child education

Torit Catholic Apostolic Administrator appealed to parents to ensure equal rights to their children.
 
Monsignor Thomas Oliha said there is need of sensitizing people on the importance of girl child education for the country to develop, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He strongly discouraged parents to desist from old traditional practices and beliefs of keeping girls for wealth without sending them to school.
 
Monsignor Oliha encouraged youths to be strong in pursuing their education for the future of South Sudan. 
 
He called on the citizens to join hands and work for peace to pave ways for development in the country.
 
Monsignor Oliha also urged the citizens to support the nation by engaging in income generating activities without depending on the Government.
