The National Legislative Assembly passed the remaining two media laws in a marathon sitting on the eve of the second anniversary of independence.
MPs passed the Right of Access to Information Bill 2013 and Media Authority Bill 2013 with urgency in their third and fourth readings on Monday.
Joy Kwaje Eluzai, who chairs the Committee for Information, Telecommunications and Culture at the assembly, presented both bills to the House for discussion.
She told journalists that the media laws were the gift MPs offered to people of South Sudan celebrating two years of independence.
During the debate, MP Kwaje said the media bills represented a milestone towards democratization placing South Sudan among a dozen African countries with proper media laws.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit has now to sign the two media bills together with the Public Broadcasting Corporation Bill passed in June into law.
During his speech opening the current session, President Kiir placed the media bills among the urgent legislation MPs had to pass.
