EE activist calls for child rights respect

An activist from Eastern Equatoria State called on citizens to respect the rights of children.
 
Child Protection Assistant Inspector in the Ministry of Culture and Social Development Oting Elizio Zeckimoi urged parents and guardians to give their children freedom in order to enjoy their rights, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He called on Eastern Equatoria citizens to avoid traditional practices that harm children.
 
Mr Elizio said respect for the rights and protection of children is an indicator of independence and freedom.
 
He cited inadequate physical infrastructure, coordination and communication system as some of the shortfalls experienced in the state.
 
Director of Gender and Social Welfare Jane Surur Gama urged people to remember the fortune of independence after a long liberation struggle.
