Rural communities of Mugwo and Otogo payams in Yei River County will get clean drinking water as efforts are under way to build more boreholes and spring wells in the area.
Yei River County Assistant Commissioner for Water and Sanitation Juma Hassan told the press on Friday that nine boreholes and three spring wells were being dug.
He added that his department was digging pit latrines in primary and secondary schools to improve sanitation and waste management in collaboration with line partners including German organization GIZ.
The water delivery project was organised by County Department of Water with the support from South Sudan Health Association and Community Action Water Program.
