Central Equatoria this month graduates 80 medical assistants to reduce the shortage of unskilled personnel.
Health Minister Emmanuel Ija Baya said there are enough medical assistants but few nurses and midwives in the state, Bakhita Radio reported.
Dr Ija added that the State has 45 Health Centres and 200 Primary Health Care Units.
National Health ministry undersecretary Matur Makur Koryom said so far the ministry sent many health workers abroad for training.
He disclosed that another group will go next week to Botswana to receive better health training.
Dr Makur said there was a dire need to train enough skilled medical personnel to ease staff shortage in the country.
