Tonj South County in Warrap State on Saturday received a new vehicle able to transport up to 20 passengers.
Acting Prison Director Akol Bul Machar told Don Bosco Radio that Tonj South Central Prison bought a new car.
He said the new vehicle will be used to transport prisoners and move personnel and whatever is necessary for the prison service.
Mr Machar explained that the new vehicle was bought with money from the Prison Wardens’ salaries being withheld each month.
The Acting Prison Director explained that they bought four vehicles with money from the Prison Wardens’ salaries being withheld each month by the Government but the cars were not enough for all the counties.
Mr Machar said the new vehicle made everyone very happy and it was received in Tonj with music, dancing and celebrating.
The Acting Prison Director added that it was a positive sign for the development of Tonj South County Prison Service.
