Citizens called on the National Constitution Review Commission to consider including views of every citizen in the upcoming national charter.

Children’s representative Rhoda Kuong called for child rights consideration in the Constitution review process, Bakhita Radio reported.

She said children are denied education and forced to do hard work at home.

Women representative Sarah Ajit said the coming constitution should specify marriage age for girls to avoid school dropouts.

Older people’s representative Marcelina Denya complained that the parliament and the South Sudanese society do not consider older people.

Mama Denya said many elderly died due to lack of care.

The citizens made their statements during the launch of a civic education campaign on the constitutional review process on Saturday in Juba.
