South Sudan is set to join the African Legal Support Facility as full member.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin broke the news to the press at the end of Friday’s ordinary cabinet sitting.
He said South Sudan membership in the African Legal Support Facility is very important because the country is a member of the African Development Bank.
Dr Marial said the cabinet advised South Sudanese students in Cairo, Egypt, to vacate the Embassy as a sign of respect to their country.
He revealed that the council decided that Higher Education minister Peter Adwok will lead a delegation to Cairo to solve the issues facing the students and pay their living allowances.
Dr Marial said the minister will discuss with his Egyptian counterpart the fate of the students’ continuation in Cairo.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit, who chaired the meeting, briefed the council on his recent visit to Botswana.
