SPLA Division Five of Wau should establish a Justice and Peace Committee.
The suggestion came on Thursday during an awareness workshop on the Transitional Constitution for SPLA organized by Wau Diocese’s Justice and Peace Commission, Voice of Hope reported. The one-day workshop was attended by over 35 junior and senior army officers.
Commission Coordinator Natalina Andrea Mabo praised soldiers for the long struggle for freedom and independence of South Sudan.
She said during the struggle SPLA soldiers missed opportunity of education.
The time came to be compensated through civic education.
Ms Andrea suggested the establishment of a Justice and Peace Committee in the army to organize and hold civic education and train soldiers on current affairs.
Chief of Moral and Orientation in Division 5 Major Mangong Anyjong described the workshop as a golden opportunity for soldiers to learn new things about the Constitution and laws of South Sudan.
Mr Anyjong asked the organizers to share the idea with army High command.
The Justice and Peace Commission last week organized another three-day session for women on their rights in the Constitution and a one-day workshop for youth on conflict management and resolution.
