Seven soldiers from the SPLA-North were killed and 41 were wounded during an attack in Dondor, South Kordofan.
SPLA-N officer Faima Safi confirmed that five soldiers died in the frontline, one died on the way and one died at the hospital.Ms Safi stated that one SPLA-N tank was destroyed by the Sudanese forces in the course of the attack.
She said the SPLA-N destroyed two tanks, one helicopter gunship, and two vehicles from the army.
Ms Safi added that the government forces suffered great losses of lives and sustained many causalities.
She said SPLA-N forces took control of Dondor after a fierce fight.
Soldier Adam Hassan, who was wounded in the frontline, said the Sudanese Army bombed them with the chemical weapons.
He added that the deadly chemical weapons caused serious damage.
Mr Hassan said there was a great loss in both sides.
Fighting in Dondor began on Sunday morning.
