National Security Council spokesperson appealed to citizens of South Sudan to promote nationalism to realize national development.
Peter Biar Ajak said corruption and tribalism as factors that have hindered collective building of the country, Emmanuel Radio reported.He listed health, economy, education, poor road network and illegal possession of firearms by civilians are major national security challenges.
Mr Biar said South Sudanese loved each other during the war but became tribal due to individual objectives.
He appealed to South Sudanese to foster the spirit of nationalism, love one another and develop the nation together.
The National Security Council spokesperson called for the need of general awareness for citizens to curb tribalism and corruption after understanding their dangers.
Mr Biar said a 12-member team was tasked to draft the National Security Policy to organize and mobilize resources in the country.
The team is in Torit for a three-day consultative meeting on the National Security Policy and Strategy.
